Jesse Blade Self

Jesse Blade Self, 25 of Robbinsville, N.C., passed away Friday, Jan. 9, 2026, at the University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville, Tenn.
Born April 12, 2000, Jesse was the son of Darrin and Michelle Self. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Marrail Irons.
In addition to his loving parents, Jesse is survived by the most important thing in his life and his greatest joy, his son, Miles Blade Self; his loving partner, Taylor Burt; his older sister and her husband, Amanda and Josh Orr; niece, Hazel Orr; and nephew, Riley Orr.
He also leaves behind loving grandparents, Connie Odom, and Benny and Clarice Ann Self; as well as uncles, Bill Self and Clint Irons (Tiffiney); cousins, Michael Self, Gracie Lee Irons and Jackson Irons; as well as many friends and extended family he loved deeply.
Jesse was a member of the Robbinsville Masonic Lodge No. 672 and Andrews Masonic Lodge No. 529, and he had recently joined the Oasis Shriners. He loved his fellow Masons and Shriners.
Jesse accepted the Lord as his Savior on June 24, 2007. "In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began;" (Titus 1:2).
Funeral services were held at 7 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 18, 2026 at the Townson-Smith Funeral Home Chapel. The Revs. Gary Crisp and Darrin Self officiated.
The family received friends from 6-7 p.m., at the chapel, prior to the service.
Committal Services were held at noon Monday, Jan. 19, 2026, at the Old Mother Baptist Church Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Robbinsville Masonic Lodge.
Townson-Smith Funeral Home was honored to serve the Self family.
