Jesse Edward Todd, 76 of Independence, Mo passed away Monday, April 21, 2025, at his residence. Cremation is planned with a memorial service to be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 3, 2025, at the Speaks Suburban Chapel. The family will greet friends from 10:00 a.m., until service time Saturday at the chapel.
Jesse was born February 20, 1949, in Wayne County Township, MO to Charles Edward and Lula Irene (Varner) Todd but was raised by Jim and Mildred Todd.
Jesse was an auto body technician for a number of years and enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and most of all, spending time with his family especially his grandchildren.
He was a member of the Santa-Cali-Gon Festival Board for 31 years, Buckner Masonic Lodge #501 AF & AM and a Boy Scout leader for Troop #813. He proudly served in the US Marine Corp during Vietnam from 1966-70.
He is survived by his wife, Crystal of the home; daughter, Paula McKinney and husband, John; son, Jimmy Todd and wife, Missy all of Lone Jack, MO; 2 step daughters, Heather Finch and husband, Brian and Courtney Brown and husband, Gabe all of Independence, MO; and 8 grandchildren, Hailey, Justin, Gabby, MacKenzie, Braeden, Austyn, Bryson and Henleigh. He was preceded in death by his parents, and adoptive parents, Jim and Mildred Todd, 2 sisters and 3 brothers.
