Mr. Whitmire was the son of the late Riley and Eloise Whitmire. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army and retired after a long career as a truck driver. Mr. Whitmire was a member of Mt. Carmel #1 Baptist Church and will be remembered as a loving husband, father, and papa.
Mr. Whitmire is survived by a son: Warren Whitmire of Salem; daughters: Michelle Wirtz (Michael) of Westminster, Kim Lester of Salem and Tammy Sexton of Townville; sisters: Sybil Hedden (Ken), Lou Orr (Bo), Lavon Orr, and Francis Taylor (Tony); seven grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and two great great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Whitmire was preceded in death by his brothers: Riley Whitmire, Roy Whitmire, Jack Whitmire; sisters: Inez Whitmire and Pat Lewis.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM, Thursday, June 19, 2025, at Mt. Carmel #1 Baptist Church with burial and military honors in the church cemetery.
Flowers are accepted.
The family is at their respective homes.
