MARTIN
It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Jessica Lynn (Gary) Martin, who went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, November 1, 2025, at the age of 39, following a courageous battle with brain cancer.
Jess was a light in every life she touched – kind, selfless, and full of joy. Her strong faith in Jesus Christ guided her through every season of life, giving her strength, peace, and hope even in her hardest days. As a devoted Christian, she knew she was saved by grace, and that assurance gives her family great comfort knowing she is now whole and at peace in the presence of her Savior.
She dedicated many years to the First Presbyterian Church's Day Care Program where her compassion, patience, and love for children left a lasting impact on countless families. Her work there was not just a job, but a ministry – a reflection of her faith and her love for others.
Of all her accomplishments, none brought her more pride or happiness than being a mother. Her daughter Norah, and son Jack were her greatest joys, and she cherished every moment spent with them. Family was everything to her, and she filled their home with love, laughter, and often the comforting smell of something sweet baking in the oven.
Jess found joy in so many things – from baking and celebrating Christmas (her absolute favorite time of the year) to watching Star Wars and Marvel movies with her loved ones. She especially loved traveling with her family and creating memories that will last forever. One of her favorite trips was to Moab, Utah, where she and her parents and children explored breathtaking landscapes and marveled at the beauty of God's creation. She also treasured her visits to Frankenmuth, where her love for all things Christmas – and her childlike wonder – shone brightest.
Perhaps one of her greatest qualities was her beautiful smile which could light up any room and bring comfort to everyone around her. Her strength, grace and unwavering faith will be remembered always by her family, friends, coworkers, and all who were blessed to know her. Though her time here was far too short, the love she gave and the light she shared will continue to shine through those she leaves behind. We rejoice in knowing she is with her Savior and that, through faith, we will see her again one day.
Jessica is survived by her beloved daughter Norah Martin and son Jack Martin; parents Scott Gary and Jody (Foldie) Gary; brothers Jarrett (Natalie) Gary, CJ (Kendall) Gary, and Gabe Gary; nieces and nephews Colleen, Wes, Dominic, and EmmaClaire Gary.
The Gary family will receive friends for a Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM in the EBERLE-FISHER FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, 103 North Main Street, London, Ohio 43140. A memorial service to celebrate and honor her life will be held on Thursday, November 6, 2025, at the funeral home beginning at 10:30 AM. A time of fellowship will follow at the First Presbyterian Church, 211 Garfield Avenue, London, Ohio 43140.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Jessica's name may be sent to the funeral home for the benevolence of her children. A candle that burns twice as bright, burns half as long.

Anyone who knew Jess, knew she was an angel long before she left us. Her smile and laugh were contagious, and her heart was so big I'm not sure anyone or anything could fill it - she always had more room for those in need no matter how full her plate may have been. She was rare, and imbued with a type of grace that we all strive to achieve and often fall short, but not Jess. Grace was as easy as breathing for her. What I will remember about her most though, is that above every tangible and non-tangible thing thrown at her in this life, she was always kind. Every fiber of her soul was weaved with kindness, love and humility, all in equal parts, and I consider myself beyond blessed to have had the opportunity to know and love Jess. I would protest the universe and/or our creator for more time with her if I could, and I know I wouldn't be alone in that quest, despite all of us knowing the sand only ever falls in one direction - and despite all of us knowing our time with Jess was too few. When I search my soul to find her essence however, I feel deeply that she has found peace beyond her corporeal form, and I do find solace in that.

I will honor her memory by reminding those of us left behind that were touched by her light, know just how truly bright she really was; especially Norah and Jack.

My deepest love, sympathies and condolences to all that feel the loss of our kind, beautiful, intelligent and humble Jess.
