TIER (PALMER)
Dixie Ann (Palmer) Tier, age 69, of London, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 9, 2025, in the Madison House Senior Living Community.
Born on June 20, 1956, in Columbus, Ohio, Dixie lived a life filled with compassion, creativity, and kindness. A proud graduate of the Ohio State University School of Cosmetology, she pursued her lifelong passion for helping others look and feel their best. She went on to own and operate her own salon, Sheer Success, where she built not only a thriving business, but a second family among her loyal clients and friends.
Later in life, Dixie continued her career of service in a new way, working in fingerprinting for the Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI). Her meticulous attention to detail and her caring nature made her a valued member of the team.
Beyond her professional life, Dixie's greatest joy came from the unconditional love of animals – especially her beloved dogs, who were truly her constant companions. Her warmth and gentle spirit extended to every creature she met, and she had a special gift for making those around her, both human and furry, feel loved and understood.
She will be remembered for her generous heart, her infectious laugh, and her ability to bring beauty and comfort to everyone she encountered.
Dixie is survived by her siblings Beverly Swank, Nelson Palmer, and Betty Peyton; nephews Mike Ferguson and Henry Swank, niece Emily Swank; several great-nieces and great-nephews; sister-in-law Mary Hopkins. She was preceded in death by her mother Lula Jane (Fleming) Palmer and father Jack Ronald Palmer.
Private interment in Somerford Township Cemetery will be completed at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Dixie's name are encouraged to be sent to benefit the Madison County Humane Society, 2020 State Route 142 NE, West Jefferson, Ohio 43162.
The EBERLE-FISHER FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, 103 North Main Street, London, Ohio 43140, is honored to be caring for the Palmer/Tier family during this difficult time. Condolences for the family are encouraged to be shared online at www.eberlefisherfuneralhome.com.
