Ms. Jessica L. Swindler

Jessica Lyn Swindler, 36, of Columbia, died on Monday, February 17, 2025. Born in Columbia, SC, on July 11, 1988, she was the daughter of Joseph M Swindler (Carmen) and the late Jackie R. Swindler.
Jessica, known as Jessy to her family and friends, graduated from Ridge View High School and went on to graduate from the University of Phoenix with a Master of Science degree in Business and Administration. As a young adult Jessy worked with infants and toddlers at a daycare center for two years. As Jessy earned her degree she worked for Charter Communications and then went on to work for Prisma Health as a surgical administrator.
Jessy's hobbies included traveling, cooking, listening to music and gathering with family and friends.
In addition to her father, Joe, and stepmother, Carmen H. Swindler; survivors include her beloved sons, Jarien J. Esther (Travoris Esther) and Jaxon J. Sutton (Clifton Sutton); paternal grandmother, Delcie Swindler; aunt, Laurie Pineda (Hector); siblings, Lisa Henderson (Steve) and Wilton Godwin (Suzanne); as well as a host of loved nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Jackie R. Swindler; and paternal grandfather, James R. Swindler; and uncle, Murray R. Swindler.
The family would like to express their gratitude and love to Aga Benson and Witshell Montgomery.
The service for Jessy will be held at 2 o'clock, Saturday, March 1st, at Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, 7600 Trenholm Road Ext., Columbia, with Mr. John Fogle officiating. Visitation will be held prior to the service at the funeral home beginning at 1 o'clock.
There will be a livestream of the service available for those unable to attend.
