Chuy was born on April 13, 1968 in Durango, Mexico to parents Nieves Salinas and the late Marcos Castro. He married the love of his life, Rosa Maria De La Fuente on June 11, 1999 and they were married for 25 happy years. He had a kind heart and gentle spirit that touched the lives of everyone around him. Chuy was known for his love of God, family and friends. He adored his grandchildren and loved giving everyone nicknames. Chuy spent his working-life doing what he loved best. A man of many trades, he was a Construction Supervisor for many years and had a strong work ethic. He was a proud semi-truck driver, and always loved to ride and work on it. He will be deeply missed and loved by all who knew him.
He is preceded in death by his father, Marcos Castro; his brother, Alfonso Castro; and his brother-in-law, Vicente Loe.
Chuy is survived by his wife, Rosa Maria Castro of Brownfield, Texas; his children, Veronica Lopez of San Antonio, Texas, Luis Lopez and fiancé Cynthia Nieto of Plainview, Texas, Eduardo Manuel and Ana Lopez of Brownfield, Texas and Tori and A.J Mercado of Brownfield, Texas; 16 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his mother, Nieves Castro; and his siblings, Sebastian Castro of Clovis, New Mexico, Andres Castro of Lockney, Texas, Marcos and Leah Castro of Hereford, Texas, Christina Loe of Bovina, Texas, Maria and Eusebio Ruiz of Hobbs, New Mexico, Francisco and Norma Castro of Juarez, Mexico, Esther and Timothy Dixon of Amarillo, Texas, and Lorenza and Armando Perez of Juarez, Mexico; 11 Nephews and 12 nieces.
