Laveta "Floydada" Morren

Floydada - Ora Laveta Morren, age 82, passed away on Saturday, August 30, 2025 in Lubbock. Graveside services will be at 1:30 p.m., Thursday, September 4, 2025 at the Floyd County Memorial Park in Floydada. Visitation will be prior to the service from 10:00 a.m.- 12:00 p.m., at the First Baptist Church in Floydada. Arrangements are under the personal care of Moore-Rose Funeral Home of Floydada.

Ora Laveta Jones Morren was born October 17,1942 in Lockney, Texas to Frank Garner Jones and Hazel Orr Jones. She graduated Lockney High School, 1961. On September 3, 1961. She married Freddie Morren in Lockney, Texas. She worked for Floydada Independent School District, August 1974 - March 2011, as a teacher assistant and later as a secretary at R. C. Andrews Elementary and Central Office.

She is preceded in death by her husband Freddie Morren; her siblings, Flora Lee Jack, F G Jones, Wanda Webb

She is survived by her children, Melissa and Bruce McCain, Cypress, Texas, Wayne and Angel Morren, Floydada, Texas, David and Beth Ann Morren, Rockwall, Texas, Denise and Rex Holcombe, Floydada, Texas; her grandchildren, Landry Morren, Kaylee Morren, Lauren McCain, Luke Holcombe, McKinzie Morren; her siblings, Lynna Davis of Longwood, Florida, Othelia Bass of Amarillo, Texas.
