Richard Morren of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma passed away on June 15, 2025 at the age of 93. He was born in Norman, Oklahoma to Emma S. (Diehm) and Thomas B. Morren. Richard attended Norman High School, graduating in 1951. He farmed on the family homestead in Norman until he was drafted in 1955. He married Rae Jean Haines on September 10, 1956 and the two of them returned to Oklahoma when he was discharged from the army in 1957. They moved to his wife's family homestead, just outside of Spencer, and he farmed there until his death. He enjoyed being outdoors, whether he was farming, hunting, fishing or gardening. He loved watching sports and was a big OKC Thunder fan. He also loved telling a good story, his wife's wonderful cooking and his family, especially his grandchildren. Richard was well known for the quality of hay he grew on his farm. His hay was highly sought after by dairymen and horsemen. He also raised wheat and beef cattle. When the local news stations wanted to do a story on a farmer or get a clip of a farmer working, the reporters were directed to his farm. Richard was greatly loved and admired by many. His knowledge and understanding of farming were highly valued by neighbors and friends. He still worked on the premise that your word was gold and a hand shake sealed a deal. Richard was a charter member of the Spencer Kiwanis Club where he served as Vice President for several years. He also served on the Oklahoma County Farm Bureau Board. Richard was preceded in death by his loving wife, Rae Jean, of 65 years, in 2021 and was looking forward to the day when they would be together again. He was also preceded in death by his parents, 2 sisters and 5 brothers. He is survived by his three children, Diane and husband Al Moreno, David and wife Jenney Morren, Debra and husband Malcom Green, and two brothers Hubert Morren and John (Charlene) Morren. Richard had 5 grandchildren: Richard Moreno, wife Toni and their children Hannah and Natalie, Debra Moreno, Jamie Morren and her children John and JaeLynn, Blake Morren, and Cole Green.

Sorry to hear of Richard's passing. Brings back a lot of memories. I grew up as a neighbor of Richard and Rae Jean. I worked for Richard driving tractors, trucks and hauling hay. I have fond memories of Richard and Rae Jean. She made the best Shepards Pie I ever had.
