Mark Stephen Meek, 69, of Midwest City, Oklahoma passed away suddenly Sunday October 12, 2025 surrounded by family.
He was born November 22, 1955 to Kenneth and Claudine Meek, in Midwest City, Oklahoma. He was an only child, and grew up in Midwest City. He graduated from Midwest City High School in 1974. He played quarterback for the Bombers football team, as well as played basketball. He moved to Weatherford, Oklahoma to pursue his bachelor's degree in pharmacy, and later received his honorary doctorate degree in the field. He worked in a few different pharmacies in the Oklahoma metropolitan area, and also spent some years practicing on the big island of Hawaii. When he returned to Oklahoma, he eventually began working at Harrison Discount Pharmacy, where he retired from in 2023. He actively volunteered and participated in the Shawnee community. In his time as a pharmacist he made countless friends, and enjoyed visiting with his customers, new and old, through the years.
He also was an active member in the MWC Community Church of the Nazarene, as he served on the church board for nearly a decade. Mark loved music, all things sports, specifically his Sooners, the Thunder, and his local school teams. In 1997, he married the love of his life, Annette Valliere-Killingsworth. They enjoyed spending time with their family. Their favorite hobbies included attending concerts, being in their "backyard oasis," and traveling to the islands of Hawaii, and the countries of Europe. Mark was loved and respected by all who met him, and was always encouraging to those he interacted with.
Mark was preceded in death by his parents Kenneth and Claudine, and deeply cherished family members and friends. He is survived by his wife, Annette, along with his children Kenny Don and his wife Jessica Meek, John Killingsworth, Katie and her husband Kaylan Kerensky, and Valerie and her husband Austin Grantham. His grandson Jaxson Grantham, and many beloved cousins, in-laws, and friends that he treated as family.
A celebration of Mark's life will be held at MWC Community Church of the Nazarene located at 10200 S.E. 15th St. Midwest City, OK on Monday October 20th at 10:00AM. There will be a graveside burial following the funeral at the Kolb Cemetery located at 7901 NE 36th St. OKC, OK.
