Early Saturday morning October 11th, 2025, Aven Smith unexpectedly went to be with his Lord and Savior, at the young age of 47 years old. Aven Alexander Smith was born to John Aven and Pamela Ann (Sink) Smith on July 31, 1978. Aven was born in Torrejon de Ardon, Madrid, Spain on Torrejon Air Base. Aven was blessed to be part of a proud military family. As a child Aven was fortunate to be able to live in many different places around the world but the place he called home was Midwest City, Oklahoma. Upon graduation from Midwest City High School in 1996 he quickly enlisted in U.S. Army and served for 14 years. He was part of the 101st Airborne Division and specialized in Communication as an IT Specialist. While in training in Fort Gordon Georgia he reconnected with his High School Sweetheart, Kimberly Stevens. After a short courtship they married on December 14, 2001, in Jonesboro, Georgia. In 2002 Aven and Kimberly were transferred to Okinawa, Japan. While stationed in Japan they welcomed their first daughter Alexandria Mae on January 22nd of 2004. Aven and Kimberly were transferred to Ft. Campbell Kentucky in 2005, and there they welcomed Emma Kate on March 21st of 2009. While stationed in Kentucky he was deployed to Iraq once and Afghanistan twice. They were then transferred to Oahu, Hawaii in 2011. While in Hawaii they welcomed their third daughter, McKenzie Olivia on October 21, 2012. Aven was honorably discharged from the US Army in 2013.
Once settled in Midwest City, the Smith's joined Meadowood Baptist Church where Aven and Kim raised their daughters to love Jesus Christ and to love others. Aven was one of a kind, funny, passionate, strong in his convictions, and loved his family and friends deeply. He was an employee of Love's Country Stores and Travel Stops and part of their rowing team.
Aven is preceded in death by maternal grandmother, Margie Boyette-Sink, paternal grandparents, John Meek Smith, Richard Earl Alexander, and Ruthie Lee Alexander. He is also preceded in death by his grandparents-in-love, Pat and Wanda Thomson and Grandmother-in-love Virginia Stevens. He is also preceded by his brother-in-law, Kyle Stevens.
Aven leaves behind his loving parents Aven and Pamela Smith of Cumming, Georgia. Aven also leaves behind his beautiful family Kimberly Smith and their three precious daughters Alexandria (Caleb "The Boy"), Emma Kate and McKenzie of the home. His sister Tracy Deanna Hanson of Nashville, Tennessee. His in-laws Lowell Stevens (Kathleen) and Deborah Elkins (Phil) of Oklahoma. His sister-in-love Kristen Hickman (Travis) of Terrell, Texas. A host of nieces and nephews whom he loved. And his most treasured friends, Greg and Amy Young.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Meadowood Baptist Youth Ministry.

Aven was one of "my boys" back when my son was in high school. Robert and Aven where together so much of those years. He was a genuinely warm, kind, and loving young man. I will remember him with admiration knowing what a great man, husband, father and friend he grew up to be. I'm so happy he came to know Jesus as Lord and Savior. My sincere prayers are with Kimberly and the girls and the rest of their family.
