LeAnna Jill (Martin) Poplin, 64, of Forgan, OK, went peacefully to be with the Lord on November 1, 2025. She was born on June 27, 1961, in Ark City, KS, to Don Martin and Shirley (Martin) Welch.
On August 24, 1978, at just 17 years old, LeAnna married Gerald D. Poplin, Jr in Midwest City, OK. Shortly after their wedding, they moved to Forgan, OK and began their life in the Panhandle. Years later, LeAnna would talk about how homesick she was and that she hated it there, but never said anything because she thought Gerald loved it. Turns out, he felt the same way! But as fate would have it, they both grew to love it, and they built their home and grew their family in the small town.
Just 2 short years after they married, they welcomed their first child, Gerald D. Poplin, III into the world and 4 years later, they welcomed their daughter, Shelby Lynn (Poplin) Williams. LeAnna loved raising her children and spent numerous years as the home-room mom and volunteering to help at their school and church.
As much as she loved her kids and was so proud of the adults they became, her love for her grandchildren was unmatched. From the time they were born, she took her "Nana" duties very seriously and spoiled them with gifts, sweets, and love. She would light up when she talked about them, and she talked about them often!
She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Gerald; her son, Gerald (III) and Karyn Poplin of Perry, OK; daughter Shelby and Riley Williams of Piedmont, OK; grandkids; Luke, Logan, and Lane Williams. Her siblings; Todd Martin, Norma Lynn Welch, Robby Welch, and Sherrie Welch.
LeAnna was preceded in death by her mother and father, her brothers Wade Martin, Jeff Martin, and Joe Welch, and countless friends and relatives that have gone before her. Services will be held on Saturday, November 8 at 10am at the Barnes Friederich & Pope Funeral Home in Midwest City, OK.
