George J. Morren, age 94, of Zeeland, Michigan, was welcomed into his heavenly home on June 24, 2025.
Born on March 28, 1931 to his parents, Gerrit and Anna Morren, George grew up on his family farm. His deep Christian faith shone through in his active membership at Beaverdam Christian Reformed Church, where he served as an elder and deacon and contributed to the Christian school board. George was a devoted husband to his wife Ruth, and a dedicated father. He taught his children the value of hard work and problem-solving while tinkering at home and tending to his hobby farm.
George served four years in the Navy and later established Morren Construction, working in heavy construction. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, traveling, and wintering in Florida filling his life with adventure and joy. He leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and family, and he will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
George J. Morren is survived by his children: Michael & Nancy Morren, James & Leora Morren, Donald & Bette Morren, Rick Morren, Linda & Mark VanTubergen; 12 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren; brother, Gary & Joyce Morren; in-laws: Sharon Morren, Myra & Norm Hop, Wendell Leathead, Jack Scholten; as well as many nieces and nephews.
George was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Morren in 2016; as well as by his siblings: Marian Lonning, Nelson Morren, Andy Morren, as well as infant brother John Morren.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM on Monday, June 30, 2025, at Beaverdam Christian Reformed Church, 5166 64th Ave. Hudsonville, MI 49426. Visitation will be 4:00-7:00 PM on Sunday, June 29 at Yntema Funeral Home, 251 South State Street, Zeeland, MI 49464. Memorial contributions may be given to the Benevolent Fund at Beaverdam CRC or to Faith Hospice. To leave condolences online, please visit www.yntemafh.com.
