Jesus (aka Jessie) Quintero Conchas, 48, of Ventura, CA passed away on October 8 in Ventura, CA. Jesus was born Los Angeles, CA to Evelia and Jose Conchas on September 10, 1974. He went to Ventura High School where he ran track and field and completed his Associate in Arts from Coastline Community College. He also completed several certification degrees in Braille Transcriber, GED Science, Vocational Service and Technology. Upholstering, and Paralegal Studies.
Jessie's life would seem too short to many, but those who were touched by him understood that the quality of existence far exceeds the quantity of time in which one lives. He appreciated every experience as a blessing, a gift. He was truly a kind soul with so much love to offer everyone. He had an infectious smile that brought so much joy to his family and friends. Although Jessie had many challenging experiences throughout his life, he gave us all such courage and hope and reminded us of the preciousness of life. Let us recall the very wise Mexican saying, "hay más tiempo que vida". Life is short but Jessie seized the day!
We can all attest that Jessie was full of life and always was ready for any adventure whether big or small. Jessie especially adored his hometown of Ventura. In fact, he wrote a poem called "Where I Come From," where he states: "Where I come from is a place where I'll always desire to be God willing, it will be; the City of San Buenaventura, is where I come from." The city of good fortune. That's what Jessie ever wanted-good fortune and, maybe, now he's experiencing the ultimate grand adventure.
Jesus is survived by his mother Evelia Conchas of Ventura, his sister Jenny Anselmo, his three brothers Celso, Joe and Gilberto, and numerous family members. He is preceded in death by his father Jose Conchas and his niece Erica Conchas.
Family and friends are invited to visiting hours to be held on Friday October 21, 2022 from 4 to 8 pm in the Joseph P. Reardon Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 757 E. Main Street Ventura, where a Most Holy Rosary will be recited at 7 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am Saturday October 22, 2022 in the Mission San Buenaventura Roman Catholic Church, 211 E Main St, Ventura, CA 93001.
