Jesse “Chupido” Perez Maldonado, 78, of Bryan went home to be with his Lord and Savior on June 16, 2023.
Jesse was born on November 3, 1944 to his parents, Antonio and Delores Maldonado. He spent his childhood growing up in Bryan and attended St. Joseph Catholic School where he would often challenge the nuns.
After finishing school, Jesse decided to honorably serve his country by joining the Army. During his time in the service he proudly gained his paratrooper wings. Following his discharge, he began his career at Texas A&M University working in the Printing Center where he would eventually retire.
In Jesse’s spare time he enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing poker, and barbequing. However, above all, he cherished the precious time he got to spend with his loved ones. Jesse enjoyed the many vacations he took with his family and the trips he went on with his cousin, Paul and his wife, Mary.
Jesse was a godly, loving, and strong man. He treated everyone like family and was loved by all who knew him.
Jesse is reunited in heaven with his parents, Antonio and Delores Maldonado; and siblings, Marcelo Maldonado, Petra Saragosa, Lupita Espino, and Mary Moreno.
The precious memories of Jesse are cherished by his wife of 57 years, Sara Rodriguez Maldonado; children, Antonio Maldonado II and wife Barbara Maldonado, Arthur Maldonado and wife Lillian Maldonado, Christopher Maldonado and wife Nickie Maldonado, and Rachel Alvarez and husband Jeffery Alvarez; grandchildren, Jesse Alan Maldonado, Antonio Maldonado III, Paige Alvarez, Nicholas Alvarez, Nicole Alvarez, Sara Rose Maldonado, Foxx Maldonado, Walker Olivares, and Cordero Olivares; 6 great-grandchildren; and brother, Raymond Maldonado.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Hospice Brazos Valley and the St. Joseph Hospital staff for their compassionate care of Jesse, and The Department of Veteran Affairs.
