Nancy Davis Adams, a beloved wife, sister, and talented artisan, left this world peacefully on December 12, 2025, in
Bryan, TX, at the age of 84. Born on January 1, 1941, in
High Point, NC, Nancy spent her formative years in Greensboro, where she graduated from high school in 1960. She embraced life with a huge heart, always offering her love and care to those around her. With big blue eyes and a radiant smile, Nancy had an infectious warmth that brightened every room and every heart.
In January of 1976, destiny brought Nancy together with John a friend set them up on a blind date. Their immediate connection led to their marriage on May 29, 1976, which Nancy considered the greatest day of her life. For two and a half years, they enjoyed the charms of Greensboro before venturing to Georgia for John's work, eventually returning to Texas in January 1981, where they built their home together with love and dedication.
Nancy's talents extended far beyond her career in bookkeeping and accounting; she was a masterful seamstress who taught many the art of sewing and creating clothing. Her love for crafts, jewelry making, and painting marked her as a creative spirit with boundless talent. She found joy in life's simple pleasures, including dancing, fishing at their cherished place in Rockport, and enjoying ice cream and coffee while listening to Elvis songs and cheering for her favorite sports teams.
Born into a Quaker family, Nancy valued her faith, which was central to her early life, attending services regularly and grounding herself in the teachings that guided her. Her joyful spirit and mantra, "Momma always said where there's a will, there's a way!" encapsulated her resilience and unwavering belief in the goodness of life.
Nancy is preceded in death by her parents, Otis and Ruth Davis. Although Nancy and John never had any kids of their own, they considered Dusty Winder, Erin Prihoda, and Nikki Winder as their own family and loved them all the same. She is survived by her husband, John Charles Adams III; fur baby cats, Molly, Bobbi, and Little Girl; sister Shirley Beatty and her late husband Richard Beatty, Jr. of
Greensboro, NC; nephews Richard F. Beatty and his wife Barbara of Myrtle Beach, SC, William R. Beatty III of
Greensboro, NC; and great nephew William Kyle Beatty and his wife Anna of Myrtle Beach, SC.
Nancy shared a special bond with her caregivers and deeply appreciated the love and care they provided to her and her fur babies. Nancy Roman and Tasha Sayers will always hold a special place in her heart.
