Weslaco - Jesus "Jesse" Hector Marines Jr. passed peacefully on July 12, 2025, at the age of 38. Funeral arrangements are under the care of Hawkins Funeral Home in Weslaco.

With a spirit that touched so many, Jesus "Jesse" Hector Marines Jr. passed peacefully on July 12, 2025, at the age of 38.

Born on March 30, 1987, in McAllen, TX. Jesse was the cherished son of Jesus H. Marines and Edna Reyes Fuentes (Rogelio Fuentes).

He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Jose & Concepion Marines, maternal grandmother Maria Reyes, and maternal great aunt Juanita Tijerina.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Crystal Marines; his father, Jesus H. Marines; his mother, Edna Reyes Fuentes; step-father, Rogelio Fuentes; three children: Jezlynn, Atticus, and Adalynn; sister, Vanessa Marines; nephew, Ayden Jose Davis, and countless aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Jesse was an accomplished bodybuilder, winning several overall shows, along with a personal trainer and fitness consultant. He left a lasting impression on everyone he met and took great pride in being able to motivate others to set and achieve goals. He reminded everyone that they were a champion, and that life isn't perfect, to use the negatives to develop and enjoy the journey.

Jesse wasn't just a son, friend, or bodybuilder; he was a loving and generous man who embraced family life without hesitation. After marrying his soulmate and best friend, Crystal, he stepped into a fatherly role and helped raise Jezlynn, Atticus, and Adalynn. He encouraged each of them to be themselves and offered support when they needed it most. Whether it was movie nights, sharing advice, joking around, or lighting fireworks, Jesse showed up in the everyday moments that mattered.

He didn't try to be perfect; he just made the effort, and that meant everything. He was consistent, dependable, loving, and had a way of making the people around him feel protected and understood. His relationship with the kids was built on trust, laughter, and mutual respect. He took the time to listen, to show up, and to make sure they knew they had someone in their corner who had their best interest at heart.

To anyone who knew him, they described his heart to be a heart of gold because he would do whatever he could to help others succeed, reminding them they got it and to white out anything that would stop them from thriving. Jesse leaves behind a legacy of dedication, integrity, and love that touched and inspired many.

Gone from our sight, but not from our hearts, and always will be with us in spirit. His presence will be deeply missed, but the impact he made on everyone's life will always remain a part of them.

"The song may have ended but your beat will live forever in our hearts."

Quotes from others:

"He inspired me to be the best version of myself and he inspired so many others. He was everyone's older brother with his caring nature."

"Jesse stood out. He was determined, emotionally wise beyond his years, and he never settled for less than what he truly wanted."

"Jesse was the real GOAT, and God definitely got the family our strongest soldier… a legend"

"Got me into wrestling and gave me something to strive for and do better. As a freshman I had someone to look up too like a big brother."

"With out Jesse I wouldn't have been inspired. To be captain or to make it to the State tournament. Jesse made me a believer. And i will forever live on remembering the Great Jesse Marines."

My sincerest condolences to Jesse's family and friends. I had the pleasure of meeting Jesse at EDC in 2023. He was the life of the party. I can't imagine the pain his loved ones are feeling. Rest in peace Jesse.
