CUMBERLAND

Jesus Eduardo Velasquez, 66, of Cumberland, a native of Peru, passed away on Sunday, July 20, 2025 after a long illness. He was the beloved husband of Patricia (Marmolejo) Velasquez, and they had been sharing a life together for over 50 years.

Born in Lima, Peru, he was the son of the late Severo Ramiro Velazquez Rodrigues and the late Trinidad del Carmen Pacheco Del Carpio. He moved to this country 12 years ago to be with his family.

He was a system engineer for Banco Continental BBVA in Peru for over 25 years. He also worked for Tegra Medical for nine years.

He enjoyed playing soccer, swimming, going to the beach, but most of all he loved spending time with his family, especially his beloved granddaughters.

In addition to his wife, he leaves his children, Cintya Malave and her husband Edwin of Cumberland; Diego Velasquez and his wife Daria of Pawtucket; his sister, Carmen Domitila Velasquez of Florida; his four granddaughters, Gianella, Darielly, Alondra, and Daliana; as well as several nieces and nephews, and extended family.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to Jesus's Life Celebration to be held with a Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, July 23, 2025 at 9:30 AM in the Holy Spirit Catholic Community Church, 1030 Dexter Street, Central Falls.

Following the mass, a Visitation will take place at 12 NOON to 1 PM in the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road, Rt. 122, Cumberland.
