Jewel Dean Elliott, age 78, went to be with her Lord and Savior December 2, 2023.
She was born to Charles and Alberta Downing on June 6, 1945. She was married to her high school sweetheart Clifford Tanner Sr. for 41 years. Several years after Clifford’s passing she found love again, and married Bobby Elliott on May 16, 2003. Jewel loved to do puzzles, quilt, burn brush piles, go to church, garden, and spend time with her great grandkids and family. She was a devoted Christian with a love for life.
She was a fiery soul, who wasn’t afraid to tell you like it is. She also loved to cook, and feed her family. She would have everyone over for lunch, and be talking about what she was going to have at the next dinner. There wasn’t a time when you saw her that she didn’t have one of her grandkids, or great grandkids with her. She always kept gum on hand for them. Jewel was always making sure to take care of her loved ones, making sure they were happy and healthy. She would always put everyone else's needs before her own. Jewel will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
She is preceded in death by her first husband Clifford Sr., Father Charles, and Mother Alberta, her brothers Jerry, and Benny, her sister Martha, sister-in-laws Judy, Linda, Shirley, Helen and Wilma, and brother-in-laws Bill Elliott, Bill Tanner, Ed, and Grover Jr.
She is survived by her husband Bobby Elliott, her sons Cliff and wife Traci, Roger and wife Janet, granddaughters Kayla and husband Josh, Ashley and husband Kaleb, Holly, Callie and husband Dusty, and Sirenity, and grandsons Peper and girlfriend Samantha, Talin, and Trever. She is also survived by her great grandchildren Kamron, Ridge, Harleigh, Britleigh, Pystol, Creed, Draven, Colter, Kylie, Beau, Connor, Mason, Garrett, and Hailey. She is also survived by her brother Charlie and wife Diane, and sisters Ella, Annie, Emma, and Sandy, brother-in-law Benny and wife Peggy, and sister-in-law Irene, as well as numerous nieces and nephews, family, and friends.
A visitation for family and friends will be held from 5-7 PM, Thursday, December 7, 2023, at Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral service will be held at 2 PM, Friday, December 8, 2023, at Butler Baptist Church. Jewel will be laid to rest in O'Field Cemetery.
