Jeweline entered into glory on August 26, 2025

She was born on December 29, 1929 to Rev. Wade Emerson Davis and Leah (Tucker) Davis in Winchester, Arkansas. They later moved to Dermott, Arkansas where she grew up and graduated from high school. She united with Christ at an early age.

After graduating from high school she met and married the love of her life, James DeWitt Jr. in 1949. They spent 66 years together until his passing in 2015. To this union four children were born: Wanda Moss, James DeWitt, Gregory DeWitt, and Michael Dewitt.

After moving to Kansas City, KS in 1951, she joined St. Andrew Missionary Baptist Church soon after it was founded and remained a member until the end. She taught Sunday school there for over 35years.

She worked for 55 years as a CNA at St. Mary's Hospital, Bethany Hospital and Providence Hospital, retiring at the age of 75.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Wade and Leah Davis, brother, Paul Davis, son, Gregory DeWitt and son-in-law Silas Moss.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her daughter Wanda Moss, Daughter-in-law, Valerie DeWitt and 2 sons James DeWitt III (Ann) and Michael. She also leaves behind 6 Grandchildren and 7 Great-grandchildren, as well as a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
