Jewell D Anderson Cox Obituary

Jewell D Anderson Cox passed away peacefully on October 15, 2025. Jewell was born on December 3, 1934, in Oklahoma City, OK to John Earl (Bill) and Margaret Mahler. She married LeRoy Blair Anderson on December 30, 1952. Together they raised four children. Jewell and Blair owned the City Market Grocery store on West Main Street. After Blair passed in 1991 Jewell met and married Clarence Cox in 1998. She was a faithful member of the Church of Christ.

Jewell was preceded in death by her husband's Blair Anderson and Clarence Cox, her parents Bill and Margaret Mahler, brothers Raymond and Melvin Mahler, daughter Rita Anderson, grandson Shan Gardner, granddaughter Amie Anderson, great granddaughter Jaqulyn Duchene and her best friend Makiko Robertson.

She is survived by daughter Tonnie and husband Jerry Leonard, son John and wife Linda Anderson, son David Anderson, chosen daughter Susan McCarron, grandsons George Salisbury, Shaun Smith, Scott Smith and wife Ashley and David Anderson Jr., granddaughter Stacy and Kevin Musgrave, Mercedes Anderson, 16 great grandchildren and 8 great-great grandchildren.

Jewell loved traveling and shopping, but above all she cherished her family and loved having them around her. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Services will be Monday, October 20, 2025, at 10:00 a.m.in the Resthaven Mortuary Chapel with interment following in Resthaven Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Rest in peace Jewell, for you led a great and wonderful life.
