Jewell Wall Hughes

Jewell Cleo Wall Hughes, 87, passed away on Sunday, November 23, 2025 at her home in Annandale, Virginia. She was born on November 27, 1937 in Gasburg, Virginia to the late Mills Eure Wall and Nannie Delbridge Wall. She was preceded in death by her former husband, Charlie W. Elgin, Jr., and her sisters, Evelyn Wall Carpenter and Irma Wall Powell. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Pamela Elgin Lowman and R. Bruce Lowman; her grandchildren, Alexa Jordan Lowman and Ethan Alexander Lowman; her brothers, Eure Lee Wall and Harless Wall; and many nieces and nephews.

Jewell was a beloved mother and grandmother who will be deeply missed. She was also a dedicated employee at Old Colony Box Company, where she worked for over 45 years before retiring as Vice President and Office Manager in 2004. Jewell enjoyed reading, walking, traveling, word puzzles, crafts, playing the piano, and spending time with her family.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, December 3, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at the Pleasant Hill Christian Church in Gasburg, Virginia with interment at the church cemetery to follow.
