Jhonatan E. Jiron

With shattered hearts and deep sorrow, the family of Jhonatan E. Jiron announces his passing on Saturday, April 19, 2025, following injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident. Jhonatan was born on September 17, 1984, in Zamora, Ecuador, the beloved son of Nora (Gordillo) Girardin and stepson of Keith Girardin, both of Bristol. Jhonatan came to the United States in 1997 and embraced it as his home. He was proud to be an American and worked tirelessly to build the life he dreamed of. For over four years, he was a dedicated employee of the Town of Torrington in the Public Works Department. Outside of work, Jhonatan lived life fully and passionately. He loved attending concertsespecially Brand New and Saosinriding his motorcycle, fishing, or taking his treasured 2007 silver Corvette for a spin. He was a proud soccer fan, with Brazil as his forever favorite team. He had a soft spot for holidays, especially Halloween and Christmas, going all out with decorations and haunted house visits. Jhonatan was a true "mommys boy," and the bond he shared with his mother was unbreakable. He often spoke of becoming a pilot one dayand while he never got his wings in this life, he now soars with his angel wings. He leaves behind his two precious daughters, Kallie and Mia, who were the light of his life. In addition to his mother and stepfather, he is survived by his brother, Keegan Girardin of Bristol; his sister, Karen Cabrera, and her boyfriend, Nick Palmisano; and his loyal Teacup Chihuahua, Spot. He is also remembered by many loving cousins and extended family. Jhonatan was predeceased by Cierra Talarski, the mother of his children. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, April 27, 2025, from 2 to 5 PM at Funk Funeral Home, 35 Bellevue Ave., Bristol, CT 06010. A memorial service will follow on Monday, April 28, 2025, at 10 AM at the funeral home. A procession to St. Josephs Cemetery, 522 Terryville Ave., Bristol, CT. will follow the service.
