Jill Jennings Obituary

Published by Legacy on Oct. 24, 2025.
Jill Jennings, a beloved wife, educator, and talented writer, passed away peacefully on October 15, 2025, in Lehigh Acres, Florida. She was born on August 9, 1947, in Montour County, Pennsylvania, to Roy B. Jennings and Mary E. Stanley, who both preceded her in death.

Jill's life was a tapestry woven with passion, intellect, and a love for the written word. She pursued her education diligently, earning a Bachelor of Arts and a Master's degree from the University of Georgia in Athens, Georgia. Her commitment to learning was matched only by her dedication to teaching; Jill imparted knowledge as a Latin and English teacher at several schools, where she inspired countless students with her enthusiasm for literature and language.

On December 31, 1989, Jill married Paul Cheng in Cobb County, Georgia. Their union was marked by love and mutual respect, creating a strong partnership that would last throughout her life. Jill is survived by her devoted husband, Paul, who stood by her side through life's many adventures.

In addition to her professional achievements, Jill was a gifted writer, recognized for her talent with numerous awards that celebrated her contributions to poetry and prose. She was an active member of the American Association of University Women (AAUW) and the Georgia Poetry Society, where she connected with fellow writers and engaged in her passion for poetry.

Jill loved to immerse herself in books, always seeking new stories and ideas to explore. Her passion for reading fed her creativity and enriched her life. She often turned her thoughts and feelings into beautifully crafted pieces of poetry, capturing the essence of human experience in her words.

Those who knew Jill will remember her not only for her literary talents but also for her warm spirit and kind heart. She was a person who touched the lives of many, and her legacy will continue through the memories shared by her friends and family.
