Jim was a simple man, with little complaints and content with life. He would tell you that his story was just ordinary but those who loved him know that in each chapter of his life he was an amazing character.
A BROTHER to Kent, Mark and Bob who were all 4 adopted by 3 best friends. The love of these ladies kept the boys together throughout their lives.
A SON to Ella Mae and Clarence who took him into their home as their own. To give their Jimmy a second chance to learn and grow with the support of parents who loved him.
A SOLDIER who joined the Army in the buddy system with his brother Mark. Served as a Sergeant in the 1st A B C 327 Infantry 101st Air Airborne Division. He honored his country and each moment of his experiences.
A VOLUNTEER to the Atwood community to where he spent many years serving to help others. A deputy, fireman, EMT, and a handyman to many who needed a helping hand.
A HUSBAND to Bernadine for over 51 years. Together they built a relationship with love, trust, strength and commitment that never stopped growing.
A DAD to Angela and Robert, who shared his morals, experiences, knowledge and unconditional love. He enjoyed watching their relationships grow and loved Jennifer and Dave just as much.
A PROVIDER who retired from Caterpillar as a welder and worked at Do It Best many years after. He was a man that could fix anything and shared his knowledge to help when needed.
A FRIEND to many throughout his life. His humor and loyalty were just a few characteristics that he shared with others. He enjoyed the company and memories of many.
A NEIGHBOR who valued those who always came to lend a hand. He felt blessed to live next to people that treated them like family.
A GRANDPA to Ali, Tate, Lilly, Nellie, Maren and Nora who he loved every minute with. He enjoyed watching them grow and the connections he shared with each one of them.
And now a GUARDIAN ANGEL with his granddaughter Paige. Reuniting with loved ones who have been supporting and guiding him along his journey.
Jim's book of life has so many more stories that he shared and from ones who knew him. We send blessings to him that his Soul's next novel will be just as filled as this one was. The lessons of life we learned from him were to be true to yourself, know that the bad times are needed to appreciate the good ones, have gratitude for everything and love from the heart. Being able to say, "I was simple, with little complaints and content with life." sounds like a great ending of a lifetime. Jim will always be in our hearts and just a prayer away. We thank our family and friends who have supported us during this difficult time.
