Jimmy Thomas Branch passed away at home on October 1, 2025 after a short illness. Jim was born in Merced, CA on March 4, 1958 to Schrildie Branch and William Moses who have both preceded him in death. Jim also lived and was raised by his uncle and aunt Tom and Gladys Gasaway who have both passed.

Jim attended some early elementary school in Winton, Bellflower, and finally in Pond where he graduated 8 th grade. After graduation his family moved to Cressey where he attended and graduated in 1976 from Livingston High School.

Jim did a short time as a reserve officer for the Livingston Police Dept. when he had an encounter that changed his mind about that career. He decided teaching was his passion and so off to college he went. Jim received his AA from Merced College, his BA and Teacher Credentials from Stanislaus State, eventually attending Chapman University for his Masters and Administrative credentials.

Jim started at Livingston Union School District as a long term sub and was hired on for the next year as the 8 th grade science teacher. The rest of his 34 years there were spent as Principal of a K-1 satellite school, Principal of Selma Herndon, eventually ending his last years as Associate Principal at Livingston Middle.

During all those years he did find time to marry the love of his life Marlene Springfield Branch in December of 1978. They spent many years traveling back roads, visiting ghost towns, vacations with Marlene's parents were always fun and good for many laughs.

Jim leaves behind his wife Marlene, brother-in-laws Larry Springfield (Rene) and Garry Springfield. His niece Carrie Springfield. Friends who are family Elizabeth Fleisig, Gary Morris, and Ernie Miller. He was preceded in death by his in-laws Charles and Loretta Springfield.

We shall travel upon the wings of eagles to soar high into the heavens to feel the light of love on our face.
