Jimmy Doyle Garrison, age 85, of Hodgenville, was born in Silver Point Tennessee, passed away, Wednesday, October 23, 2024, in Elizabethtown. He was the son of Bedford and Louella Glover Garrison.
He made a profession of faith at an early age. Jim rededicated his life this past Sunday. He began his career in driving with Louisville Transit before joining Greyhound Lines for 23 years as a driver, driving instructor and Chief Union Steward. He retired form driving and operated his own handyman business for many years. Jim enjoyed traveling the world, good food and spending time with family and friends. He was an avid classic car buff and was a member of the National Street Rod Association. Jim was also a proud 57 year member of Blue Lodge Kilwinning #506 F & AM. He was also a Kentucky Colonel.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents and a brother-in-law, Clyde H. Dodson.
Left to cherish Jim's memory is his loving wife of 30 years, Dana Goss Garrison; two sons, Larry Valentine (Janet) and Juney Garrison (Peggy); two daughter, Vicky Sue Valentine and Cheryl Thomas (Fred Hoit); eight grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and a great-grandson due February 2025; a sister, Juanita Garrison Dodson; a host of nieces and nephews and a loving cat, Mae Mae.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday, October 28, at Bennett-Bertram Funeral Home in Hodgenville, Bro. DeWayne Gibson officiating. Burial will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Bon Ary Methodist Church Cemetery in Barren County.
A Masonic service will be conducted at 7 p.m. Sunday evening at the funeral home.
Visitation will be 3 to 8 Sunday and after 9 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.
