James “Jim” Grabin, of O’Fallon, MO, passed away Tuesday, March 12, 2024, at the age of 81. Cherished son of the late Charles and Leona Grabin. Dear brother to Charlene (Bill) Wilman, uncle to many and Dear friend of Valerie Winkler.
Jim proudly served in the United States Navy and was a member of the Local Electrician Union. His passions included driving race cars and admiring muscle cars, often participating in races in Alton, IL. His previous collection included a '59 Chevy, a '66 Buick Oldsmobile. He still holds on dearly to his '21 Ford Shelby, his pride and joy. Alongside his automotive interests, Jim found joy in perusing car and gun magazines. An artist at heart, he led art classes at his retirement community, reveling in painting and drawing. Music was another love, with a penchant for the Beach Boys and Roy Orbison. His favorite color, red, matched his enthusiasm for pepperoni pizza and sweet tea. Jim savored late-night viewings of Seinfeld before turning in for the night. In his youth, he thrived on yard work, relishing in mowing and strolls outdoors. Fishing for bass in his VIP boat and hunting squirrels and rabbits also brought him joy. Jim leaves behind a legacy of love and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Memorials may be made in James 's name to Alzheimer’s Association.
