Age 67 of Wilmington, Illinois died Saturday, November 5, 2022 at Riverside Medical Center in Kankakee, Illinois.

Born July 29, 1955 in WaKeeney, Kansas, James Allen is a son of Mary (nee Marston) Hunt and the late Wayne Eldon Hunt. He was raised in Wilmington and graduated from Wilmington High School with the Class of 1973. Throughout his high school years, Jim was active in football and wrestling and his love for all things Wildcat continued throughout his entire life. Jim worked as a brick layer, as well as held employment with Waste Management. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Wilmington, and will be remembered for his love of the outdoors; walking, and socializing throughout town. Jim enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping and gardening. In addition to following all of the Wilmington sports, Jim was a fan of Chicago sports including the Cubs, Bears and Bulls, and his knowledge of sports facts was vast. Jim was particularly fond of his nieces and nephews, and that love of family only expanded as the great nieces and great nephews came along.

Survivors include his mother, Mary Hunt of Wilmington; siblings: Steve (Donna) Hunt of Las Vegas, Nevada, Russ Hunt of Essex, Dan (Angie) Hunt of Wyandotte, Michigan and Cyndi Hunt of Janesville, Wisconsin; sister-in-law, Maureen McQuinn of Crescent City, California; brother-in-law, Tim Todd of Caledonia, Wisconsin; (11) nieces and nephews: Michelle (Jake) Lindquist of Carlsbad, California, Dr. S. Matt (Sarah) Hunt of Truckee, California, Kahlynn (Evan) Huck of Jackson, Wyoming, Derek (Sarah) Hetherington of Lexington, KY, Aubrey Hunt of Essex, Aandrea (Jason) Thompson and Corbin Hunt, both of Wyandotte, Kelly Todd of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Kristen (Cory) Snyder of Odessa, Texas, Karin (Nick) Wilbricht of Fitchburg, Wisconsin and Ana McQuinn of St. Louis, Missouri; (15) great nieces and great nephews, and numerous cousins and step-cousins including his special cousin, Dean Hazlett of Topeka, Kansas.

Jim was preceded in death by his father Wayne Eldon Hunt (1983), and his grandparents: Walter and Alice Hunt and Earl and Gladys Marston.
