Funeral services for Mr. Jim Oscar Smith, Sr., of Hinesville, Georgia, will be held on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at 11 AM in the C. D. Dudley Memorial Chapel at the Dudley Funeral Home, 617 East Jackson Street in Dublin. Jim Smith, Jr. will deliver the eulogy.
Jim Oscar Smith was born on December 4, 1953, to Willie B Watkins and Elouise Walker. He attended Charles R. Drew, Blanche Ely Middle, then Coconut Creek High School. He was a retired master carpenter. One of Jim's greatest pleasures was fishing.
Jim was a man who found pleasure in the everyday. He enjoyed spending time with his family and watching his favorite TV shows such as "Perry Mason", "Gunsmoke", and "Matlock".
Jim was preceded in death by his mother and father and by a host of loved family and friends.
He is survived by his children Jim, Jr., (Quinneca) "Honey Pie" Smith, Alvin "Squash" Smith, Bertha Johnson, Seth Johnson, Seriah Evans, 11 grandchildren, and 13 great grandchildren, sisters and brothers, Tony (Renee) Thomas, Danny "Danny Boy" (Glesila), Ronnie Knight, Tommie, Jr., (Gaye) Walker of Dublin, Clint Walker of Dublin, Tyrone (Patricia) of Philadelphia, sisters, Jackie Knight, Monica "Monk" (Brent) Farmer of Dublin, and a host of nieces and nephews.
