Jimmie Combs, 83, of Albemarle, passed away Saturday, August 30, 2025, at the VA Liberty Lane Hospice House in Salisbury.
Jimmie was born in Kentucky on May 2, 1942, to the late Calem Combs and the late Elizabeth Mullins Combs.
He was also preceded in death by his sister, Jackaline Combs Johnson and grandson, Jeremy McAfee.
The memorial service/ Celebration of Life/ committal service will be held on Thursday, September 11, 2025, at 11:00am at Salisbury National Cemetery officiated by Chaplain Knisley. Inurnment will immediately follow at the Salisbury National Cemetery at 501 Statesville Blvd., Salisbury.
Survivors include wife of 50 years, Mary Catherine "Kitty" Kenney Combs of the home; children, James Allen Combs, Tonya Combs Correa and Michael (Marsha) Combs; 5 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
Jimmie served 20 years in the USMC. He enjoyed assignments in Alaska, Cyprus, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, Cuba and Guam as well as stateside tours at Camp LeJeune, North Carolina and Ft. Meade, Maryland. He celebrated his 25th birthday while serving in Vietnam.
