Cheryl Combs, 61, loving wife of Van Lee Combs for 30 years, passed from this life into her eternal home unexpectedly on Thursday, August 28, 2025. She was the oldest child of Ronald Eugene and Wanda Parks Padgett, born April 3, 1964. Cheryl was a dedicated homemaker and loved spending time with her family, cleaning and sneaking in occasional shopping trips. In addition to her husband, she leaves memories with her children Brandi Nicholle Johnson, husband Matthew, Jesse Eugene Padgett, and Joshua Gibson, wife Melinda, as well as her sisters Gina Watson, husband Ronald Ison, and Tammy Smith McQueary, husband John. She will be fondly remembered by the lights of her life her: 14 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. She also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members and friends. The family will greet friends at Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home beginning at 4:00 PM on Tuesday, Sept 2, with a Service of Remembrance to be held 6:30 PM. “If there ever comes a day where we can’t be together, keep me in your heart. I’ll be there forever.” Hager and Cundiff Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements and would like to express our sincere sympathy to the family and friends of Cheryl.
