Jimmie Lee Davis was born September 11, 1939, in Somerville, Texas to the late James Coleman and Zora Lee Tolson. She accepted Christ at an early age at Mount Calvary Missionary Baptist Church in Somerville, TX. Jimmie attended Somerville High School where she excelled in track. She later graduated from Franklin Beauty School, where she earned her cosmetology license.
On December 21, 1959, Jimmie united in holy matrimony to Harry L. Davis, and to this union, five children were born: Annette, Jeanette, Harry, Jr., Jacqueline, and LaToya.
Jimmie had a multifaceted career that spanned for over 45 years. Most of her work experience was spent as a supervisor at Foley's and as a professional hairstylist. Jimmie also exercised her God-given musical gifts as an active choir member at Greater Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church, under the leadership of the late Rev. Ernest Gibbs and Rev. W.L. Martin. In 1985, Jimmie and her family joined New Faith Church under the leadership of Dr. T.R. Williams, Sr., and Dr. Andre J. Lewis, where she continued to serve as a devoted member of the Voices of Faith Choir, under the direction of the late Rev. Ronald J. Materre, and Min. Christopher Watkins.
Jimmie was preceded in death by her husband, Harry L. Davis, Sr. and her parents, James Coleman and Zora Lee Tolson.
On Thursday, July 24, 2025, Jimmie answered God's call from labor to reward.
Jimmie is survived by her children: Annette Williams, Jeanette Davis, Harry L. Davis (Terri), Jacqueline Joffrion (James), and LaToya Davis (W. Trey); Grandchildren: Christopher Davis (Robin), Terez Davis, Sheldon Bobb (Rochelle), Whitney Adams (Jermaine), Harry Davis, III (Tavetra), Jaris Davis, Joynesha Davis, Jyron Davis, Ryan Davis (Courtney), Meghan Davis, and Kirstyn Davis, best friend Shirley Martin, 17 great-grandchildren, and a host of family and friends.
