Jimmie Eaves Obituary
Born: March 22, 1929 | Died: July 28, 2025
Jimmie Lynn Eaves, formerly of Maryville, passed away peacefully at home in Irving, Tx on July 28, 2025 at the age of 96. She had moved to Texas to be with her daughter and family after her beloved husband, Marvin, died in 2018. She was able to enjoy several years being with her grandson, Jim, and she took great delight in spending time with the apple of her eye, her great-grandson, Jaxon, age 11.
Jimmie was a loving, devoted wife and mother, who always put taking care of her family and their home first. She was an avid bridge player, a great cook, and had many friends in Tennessee she enjoyed talking to on the phone. Her sweet smile was always welcoming to new residents moving into her Texas senior living facilities, which allowed her to make Texas friends as well. Her gentle spirit and kind heart drew people to her. She especially loved little children, dogs, flowers, music, and the Smoky Mountains.
Jimmie was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Marvin, her son, Eric and her parents, Beulah and Charles Long. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Leslie and Doug Roberts of Coppell, Tx, Jim and Jaxon Roberts and Jennifer Cole, Lewisville, Texas, and Marly Smith and Will Osborne and their children, Christopher and Ashley, The Woodlands, Texas.
The family wishes to thank Washington Pointe Assisted Living, and especially Trinity Hospice and Cornerstone Caregiving for all of their love, support and great care they provided for Jimmie's journey.
A memorial service celebrating Jimmie's life will be held on Saturday, August 30 at 11am at Grandview Pavilion. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Jimmie's memory to Friends of the Smokies, https://friendsofthesmokies.org or Metrocrest Services, https://metrocrestservices.org. www.mccammonammonsclick.com 865-982-6812
