Jimmie C. Estes, age 85, of Saint Joseph, Missouri, passed away peacefully at his home on December 25, 2025. He was the seventh of eight children, born on February 6, 1940, to Louis and Edith Estes in Bolckow, Missouri. Jim lived a long and meaningful life marked by dedication, quiet strength, and a deep love for his family.

In 1963, at the age of 23, Jim enlisted in the United States Air Force. He completed basic training at Lackland Air Force Base in Texas and was then stationed at Forbes Air Force Base in Topeka, Kansas, where he served for the duration of his active duty. Jim valued his service highly, attained the rank of Sergeant, and served honorably until his discharge in 1967. Following his active duty service, he continued to serve for two additional years in the Air Force Reserves.

Jim was known for his humor, quick wit, patience, and strong work ethic. He touched the lives of many through his years of coaching kids, volunteering in his community, taking summer road trips with his family, and faithfully attending his children's and grandchildren's many sporting events. He loved to travel and enjoyed seeing new places while making lasting memories along the way. Whether through his work in car sales or the simple, everyday moments he shared with others, working puzzles and shooting the breeze, Jim made a lasting impact on everyone fortunate enough to know him.

He is survived by his children: Jeffrey Estes (Cheryl) of Fort Worth, Texas; Jami Austin (Dave) of Oxford, Iowa; and Jodi Wilson (Troy) of Lee's Summit, Missouri. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Chai Wilson (Chanelle), Corbin Wilson (Sierra), Jeremy Williams, Caleb Wilson (Emilie), Noah Wilson, Bradee Williams, Jace Estes, Jaelyn Estes, Isabella Wilson, and Jayden Estes; as well as six great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews, all of whom will forever carry his memory in their hearts. He is also survived by Joyce Estes, mother of his children. Jim was preceded in death by his parents and his seven siblings and their spouses.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff at Benedictine Living Community for the love and care they provided Jim in his recent years. They became part of his family, and their kindness will always be remembered.

Farewell Services and Public Livestream 1:00 P.M. Monday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory. Interment Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will gather with friends one hour prior to the service. Online guest book and obituary at www.meierhoffer.com.

Friends and family are invited to gather, share memories, and honor Jim's life. His presence will be deeply missed, but his legacy of love, integrity, and warmth will continue to live on in all who knew him.
