Jimmie Karl Manry of Norman, Oklahoma, passed from this life on February 10th, 2025, at the age of 77. Jimmie was born to Claude and Willie Mae Manry (Norris) in Pampa, Texas on March 3rd, 1947.
He enjoyed having anything to do with cars and trucks, be it putting model cars together, working on engines, or being an oilfield truck driver for Unit Drilling. Known as a hard worker, he led by example and passed on the value of working diligently to his children.
Described as a man with a golden heart, Jimmie was very well respected by those who knew him. Jimmie had multiple ways of showing his love for family, whether that was agitating his children and grandchildren or by giving gifts. He would make sure to send his family a Bible verse every day and really enjoyed reading his Bible. His devotion to faith also inspired him to become a deacon of Berry Road Baptist Church in Norman.
Jimmie enjoyed watching OU football in his free time and greatly enjoyed going on cruises once he retired. He has been described as "everybody's dad," and enjoyed being there for all who needed him.
He is also survived by his loving wife of 57 years Jo Manry, his three children Tammy K Manry, Jimmy Manry and wife Kimberly, Kimberly Arnold, and husband Neal, three grandchildren Stephen Blake, Allison Jo, and Mason Arnold, as well as three great grandchildren Andi, Clay, and Novah. In addition, Jimmie leaves behind his sister Mary Williams and husband Cliff. He will also be dearly missed by many other loving family and friends.
Preceding him in death were his parents Claude and Willie Mae Manry, twin brother Jerrie, brothers John Hardy, Roy Don, Ernie, Claude "Apple" Jack, and three sisters Paula, Doris, and Kay.
Jimmie's kindness and love will be missed dearly by all who knew him. His legacy will live on in those who learned from him, and they will cherish the memories of the wonderful times spent together.
