Jimmie William Newman

Jimmie William Newman went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at the age of 80 after a long illness. He is now at rest. Jimmie was born in Glendale, Ca. At 17 during the Vietnam War he joined the Naval Reserves. At age 18 he was flown to Japan for deployment on the USS. CORAL SEA AIRCRAFT CARRIER. The last 4 months of his deployment he served on the USS HORNET. Jimmie married his high school sweetheart, Linda Tolley. They spent 59 and a half years together. Jimmie came to the Lord Jesus Christ at the age of 29. He then attended Tennessee Temple College. He graduated from Oklahoma Baptist College earning his B.A. Degree and was ordained to the ministry. Later in life he worked for SCI and Lowen Group Cemetery/Mortuaries. Establishing and training employees in family services in different parts of California. Jimmie leaves behind his wife Linda and their 3 children. Susan Newman, James Newman, and Jason Newman. 6 Grandchildren: Andrew Newman, Lauren Newman/Baker, Megan Newman, Jacob Newman, Micah Newman, Lukas Newman. 3 Great grandchildren: Brantley Baker, Logan Baker, and Baby Newman to be born, nieces, and nephews. Jimmie was preceded in death by his father William Newman, his mother Bobbie Newman, his sister Rhonda Newman-Green and his granddaughter Rachel Newman.
