Jimmie "Jim" Pearson was born December 21, 1944, in Sand Gap, KY and he passed away on Thursday, August 8, 2024, at the Waters of Gainesboro at the age of 79.
Jim proudly served in the Unites States Army where he was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Air Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, and a Bronze Star Medal. After being honorably discharged from the Army, he pursued a career as an over the road truck driver. He was married to Linda Faye Pearson for over 25 years. He was a member of the Teamster Union and the American Legion.
Preceded in death by his parents, wife: Linda Pearson who passed away on July 10, 2024; brother: Joe Pearson; and sister: Jerry Pearson.
Survivors include his son: Tim Hollis of Carthage, TN; grandchildren: Amanda (Brandon) Haven of Carthage, TN and Travis Hollis of Mt. Juliet, TN; great grandchildren: Tegan Bessette, Tatum Haven, Anthony Haven, and Trinity Hollis.
Visitation will be on Monday, August 12, 2024, from 4-8 pm and again on Tuesday from 10 am to 12 noon in the chapel of Anderson Upper Cumberland Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 12 noon on Tuesday, August 13, 2024, in the chapel of Anderson Upper Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. Jimmy Stafford officiating. Burial will follow at 2:30 pm at Mount Juliet Memorial Gardens located at 654 W Division St., Mt. Juliet, TN 37122.
