Meridian, Mississippi, age 84, died August 7, 2025, surrounded by his loved ones. He was born January 20,1941, in Newton County, Mississippi, to Amos Odis and Ida Mae Alexander. He is survived by his devoted wife of 64 ½ years, Ann Alexander; his three daughters, Gina Sharman (Randy), Donna Creel (Greg), and Rhonda Poole (Ed); his five grandchildren, Cody Creel (Valerie), Jamey Sharman Gresham (Scott), Victoria Poole Nosco (Charlie), Sara Creel, and Alexandria Poole; and his six great-grandchildren, Ivey and Case Creel, William and Vivienne Gresham, and Louis and Peter Nosco. He is also survived by his siblings, Gerald Alexander, Janelle Feingold, Robert Alexander, Melba McGee, Glenda Todd (James), Ralph Alexander, and special family member of 50 years, Josephine "JoJo" Hodges, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Amos Odis and Ida Mae Alexander; his sisters-in-law, Rita and Joyce Alexander; and his brothers-in-law, Abe Feingold, Steve McGee, and Don Howington. Jimmy was seldom found sitting still -unless a good western was on. He loved going to an auction and was ready to "win" whatever treasure caught his eye. He had a soft spot for old cars, particularly Mustangs. He loved hunting, fishing, and working in the garden. For Jimmy, a day spent outdoors in good company was a day well spent. On December 24, 1960, Jimmy married the love of his life, Ann Howington Alexander. From that day forward, she was his partner in every sense-sharing his dreams, working alongside him in every business, and building a life rooted in love and devotion. They were true partners who faced everything life brought them hand-in-hand. Jimmy counted his marriage to Ann as his greatest blessing. He was a man of faith and family. Jimmy was a member of Northcrest Baptist Church since 1986, and he was also a member of the Senior Men's Lifegroup. He was extremely close to his siblings, sharing a lifelong bond of support and affection. He was a loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was a faithful friend to many. In 1974, Jimmy Alexander, alongside his business partner Henry Burns, founded A&B Electric Company Inc. It began as a small venture and grew into a remarkable legacy. Through Jimmy's tireless work ethic, steady leadership, and genuine relationships, A&B Electric became the catalyst for the creation of fifteen additional companies in the fields of remanufacturing, mechanical, communications, and development. Over the decades, these businesses have collectively employed more than 1,200 people across the Southeast. Jimmy was a man who believed in doing things the right way-by earning trust, keeping his word, and leading with humility. He was as committed to his community as he was to his companies. He was a founding member of The Partnership which later became the East Mississippi Business Development Corporation and served on the boards of the Meridian Community College Foundation, the Associated Builders & Contractors, the State of Mississippi District Workforce Council, the Mississippi Manufacturers Association, and the State of Mississippi Job Training Coordinating Council. Jimmy's contributions did not go unnoticed. He was honored with the Ernst and Young Entrepreneurial Award, the Hartley Peavey Award, and numerous other business accolades over the years. For Jimmy, however, the true measure of success was in the opportunities he created for others, including his family, employees whom he considered his family, and the communities that grew stronger because of his vision. Jimmy Alexander will be remembered as a hardworking and humble man-a leader, a mentor, and a family man whose love and example will continue to guide those who knew him. His legacy lives on in the companies he created, the countless lives he touched, and the family who will carry his memory forward with pride and love.
