"Therefore, you now have sorrow; but I will see you again and your heart will rejoice, and your joy no one will take from you." John 16:22
Jimmy Wayne Berryman, 80, met the promises of his faith, won the victory, and entered into his Heavenly Home on Saturday, February 22, 2025, after he departed this earthly life at the Tippah County Hospital, with family by his side.
Funeral Services honoring the life of Mr. Jimmy will be at 1 PM Tuesday February 25, 2025, at Chapman Church of Christ. Visitation will be from 11 AM until time of service on Tuesday February 25, 2025, at Chapman Church of Christ. Burial will follow in the Chapman Church of Christ Cemetery.
Born January 10, 1945, in Prentiss County, MS, Mr. Jimmy was the son of the late John William Berryman Sr. and Eula A. Eaton Berryman. He received his education from Jumpertown High School and was employed with Bench Craft for eighteen years, serving as a frame builder. A Christian and faithful member of Chapman Church of Christ, Mr. Berryman served his Lord and church full heartedly, always attending services of worship when able and inspiring others to live a life devoted to Christ.
Mr. Jimmy found joy in all the simple things life had to offer. Whether it was deer hunting with his son Thad, although their idea of hunting was mainly riding around in the pickup, never really shooting much, or fishing on the banks of any pond he could find, watching all westerns and sports, especially the Chicago Cubs, Los Angeles Dodgers, Atlanta Braves, or Ole Miss, which he and his late wife, Mrs. Joan would referee from the living room and even frying and eating fish with his family and friends, Mr. Jimmy loved it all. Family was most important to him, for he wore the title "Grandpa" proudly, always looking forward to anytime spent with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Mr. Jimmy lived a life full of love, laughter, and light. He never met a stranger and had a way of giving so many a reason for believing in true kindness, and willingness to help others. The love he had for his family, and strong devotion to Jesus Christ, will long be remembered by those whose lived he touched most. We are forever blessed, and our lives enriched, bright, and joyous because Mr. Jimmy lived 80 years amongst, believing in us, guiding us, helping us, and loving us.
His legacy will continue to live on through his daughter, Stephanie Longoria (Jerry), four sons, Lannie Hopper (Rhonda), Keylon Berryman (Jeanie), Keith Berryman (Laurene), and Thad Berryman, one sister, Ruby Lambert, two brothers, Rex Berryman (Linda), and Billy Berryman (Linda), ten grandchildren, and fourteen great grandchildren.
In addition to his beloved wife, Joan Morrison Berryman, he is also preceded in death by eight brothers.
Those serving as pallbearers will be Andrew Hopper, Austin Hopper, Zack Berryman, Justin Berryman, C. J. Berryman, and Tracy Morrison.
Honorary pallbearers will be Erik Longoria, Sammie Carmichiel, and Bryan Hopper.
