Jimmy Ray Brown was born in the Ardmore, OK, on April 11, 1947 to the late Jennie V. (Roberts) Pickens and Sanford Brown, Sr. He was called home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 11, 2022.

 

 Jimmy Ray grew up in Ardmore. He was drafted into the United States Army and served in Vietnam for over three years. After getting his honorable discharge, he returned home and went to work for Day Concrete. He was later employed by The Department of Veterans Affairs, where he retired from the Maintenance department.

 

Jimmy Ray shared his life with Alice Eddy for 26 years. His passions were fishing and creating delectable meals from his catch. He also enjoyed mowing lawns and fast cars.

 

Jimmy Ray was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters; Barbara Jean, Janet Pickens; two brothers; David Brown and Major Grant.

 

Pleasant memories will be forever cherished by his loving companion of 26 years of the home; two stepsons, Michael Eddy (Christie) of Wolcottville, IN, and Melvin Miller of Ardmore; one stepdaughter; Tara Johnson; two brothers; Lester Charles Brown and Sanford Brown (Sheryl) of Ardmore; two sisters, Linda Petties of Ardmore, and Janice Campbell of Santa Anna, CA; two step-Grandchildren; Tara Lyn Johnson and Vanessa Johnson, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends and acquaintances.
