Jimmy Dale Darr, 70, of Jacksonville passed away December 19, 2023. He was born March 11, 1953 in West Memphis, Arkansas to the late James and Lethel (Westerfield) Darr. In addition to his parents, Jimmy was preceded in death by his siblings, Finis Darr, Ruth Darr Suiter, Delbert Darr, Marcella Darr Duncan, and Johnny Darr.
Jimmy attended school in West Memphis and graduated from Rivercrest High School in 1971. After high school, Jimmy made a career in the furniture industry while living in West Memphis. He then moved to Jacksonville, Arkansas in 1988 and worked for the Arkansas Democrat Gazette in retail advertising for over twenty-five years.
A dedicated sports fan, Jimmy coached baseball for all three sons throughout their childhood. He was a diehard Razorback fan and loved cheering them on each game. He played golf any chance he got and made lifelong friends on the golf course. His favorite hobby was fishing with friends and being at his place in Heber Springs, trolling on the pontoon.
Those left to cherish the beautiful memories of Jimmy include his wife, Cindy; three sons, Spencer (Terri) of Cumming, Georgia, Zachary (Madison) of Jacksonville, Arkansas, and Casey Darr of Dallas, Texas; two granddaughters, Palmer and Reagan Darr of Cumming, Georgia; sister, Jane Hutzel of Heber Springs, Arkansas; and several cousins, nieces, nephews, and great friends that will miss him dearly.
Memorial services will be 1:00 p.m., Thursday, December 28, 2023 at Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Home, with a memorial gathering an hour before the service at the funeral home. The family asks that memorial donations in Jimmy's name be made to Hope4Hazel.com
