Jimmy Pal Ferrell Sr., of St. Charles, MO, passed away Sunday, September 28, 2025, at the age of 89. Beloved husband of the late Betty Marie Ferrell; cherished son of the late Edna Alice and James William Ferrell; devoted father of Jimmy "Jim" P. (Kathy) Ferrell Jr., the late Michael (Theresa) Ferrell, and Roger (Shelly) Ferrell; loving grandfather of Chad (Jennifer) Ferrell, Heather (Rustin) Peterson, Katie (Nick) Jayne, Sam Ferrell, Shane Ferrell, Kayla Ferrell, Denita Ferrell, and Seth Ferell; treasured great grandfather of 16, including the late Cole Ferrell; dear brother of Nell Richardson and Linda Varner and four siblings who preceded him in death, two brother, James Lee Ferrell and E.B. Ferrell, and two sisters, Liddie Belle Richardson and Maggie Kracke.
Jimmy was a devout member of Fairmount General Baptist Church since 1974 and a lifelong sports enthusiast who especially loved Cardinals baseball and Mizzou basketball. A talented basketball player in high school, he could have continued on a college scholarship if not for his decision to work instead. From a young age, Jimmy developed a strong work ethic while helping on the family farm, and he carried that dedication throughout his life, later working for Cupples Company until retiring at age 62. He cherished the outdoors, finding joy in hunting, fishing, and spending time at his cypress shack on the farm, which he lovingly called his “happy place.” Jimmy was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Memorials may be made in Jimmy's name to the American Heart Association or St. Jude’s Children's Research Hospital.
