Alvin J. "Jimmy" Fowler, 81 year old Woodward resident, passed away Tuesday, August 12, 2025 at his residence in Woodward, surrounded by his family. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 15, 2025 in the Billings Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Elmwood Cemetery.
Alvin James Fowler, Sr. was born on June 23, 1944 in Woodward, Oklahoma to Alvin and Olive (Grove) Fowler. He grew up in the Woodward area and attended Woodward schools, later receiving his GED. He was united in marriage to Brenda June Foster on September 21, 1962 in Post, Texas. They were blessed with two sons: Alvin James Jr. and Roylen. The family lived in Fellsberg, Kansas and Woodward, Oklahoma. Jimmy worked as a truck driver and was the Maintenance Supervisor at Western State for many years.
He enjoyed bowling but he loved spending time with his family, especially his wife Brenda, his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife Brenda Fowler of the home; one son Roylen Fowler and wife Tina; grandchildren: Kristi Fowler, Natasha Seward and husband Michael, and Kaden Fowler and fiancé Jenna; great-grandchildren, Seeley and Sawyer Seward; brothers, Ronny Fowler, Danny Fowler; sister, Alvina Janow; sisters-in-law, Linda Fowler, Wanda Goldsmith and husband Hank; brother-in-law, Cecil Moses Foster, Jr. and wife Sue; other relatives and many wonderful friends.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents, Alvin and Olive Fowler, siblings, Wanda Merchant, Ann Shuyler, Alice Hale, Sonny Fowler, Bobby Fowler, Donny Fowler, Ellen Brumley, and his son Jamey Fowler and several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
