Jimmy Dale Hanback, 75, of Peachtree City, GA, peacefully entered eternal rest on January 14, 2024, in Chicago, IL. Born in a close-knit community that holds a special place in his heart, Tyronza, AR, Jimmy went on to build a life filled with love and family in Ypsilanti, MI.

Ypsilanti was his primary residence throughout his life, where he raised his family and created lasting memories. He leaves behind a legacy of love and family, survived by his daughters and their respective husbands, Jeanette & Jonathan Brenner, Elizabeth & Jameson Turpening, and Brenda & David Middleton. While feeling the loss of his grandson Luke, Jimmy was a cherished grandfather to Max, Aaron, Joel, Rowyn, Cohen, and Nolan.

He was the dearest brother of Veronica & John Vandenburg, Tina & Michael Kwek, and Douglas & Yvonne Hanback. Sadly, his sister Pamela and her husband Larry, along with his father, Lewis Hanback, also preceded him in death. Jimmy was the precious son of his mother, Era Loftis, and stepfather, Farrell.

A proud U.S. Army Veteran, Jimmy served six years, which included time spent in Germany, and continued his service in various capacities. A member of the American Legion, he contributed to his community and fellow veterans. Beyond his military service, he was an avid sportsman, finding joy in fishing, hunting, and boating during his leisure moments. A true enthusiast, he had a passion for following The Weather Channel, connecting with friends on Facebook, leisurely drives in golf carts, watching hunting shows, and listening to his favorite music artists - The Who, Creedence Clearwater Revival, and The Rolling Stones.

Jimmy's warm friendship touched the lives of many, and he will be deeply missed. Known for his kindness, he was loved by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His humor brightened countless days, as he was also known for telling great jokes that left everyone laughing.

He found immense joy in sharing his passions with others, especially helping them learn something new for the first time, like casting a line at Tina's and Michael's lake house.

In the later stage of his life, Jimmy retired to Peachtree City, GA, where he spent meaningful years surrounded by the love of his family. Elizabeth, Jameson, Rowyn, Cohen, and Nolan played an integral role, bringing him immeasurable joy and comfort. Jimmy also created amazing memories with Brenda and David during his annual visits to Chicago, where he looked forward to watching football together with them and their dog, Broderick, eating cheese sandwiches at the Farmer's Market or Italian Beef sandwiches from Portillo's.

Jimmy also shared lifelong friendships with Larry Bennett and Gary Cobb. Together, they frequented Larry's land in Evart, MI, where they enjoyed hunting, and their deer blind was affectionately called "The Donut Shop." They also shared fishing adventures, occasionally teasing Gary for his fishing skills.

Jimmy also cherished the memories of going fishing with his cousin Kenny Burress, who owned his own walleye fishing charter business on Lake Erie. They would go fishing together with their dads, fulfilling a childhood dream come true.

Amen !

A memorial celebration will be announced at a later time.
