Jimmy Jennings, 67, of Winston, GA passed away on Sunday, August 31, 2025. He was born on June 16, 1958, the son of the late George Heflin Jennings and the late Hazel Shelton Jennings.
A man who embraced the simple joys of life, Jimmy's hands were often covered in the dust of his fields and the sawdust of his woodworking projects. His career in farming was not just a means of living; it was a testament to his unwavering work ethic and deep connection to the land that he cherished.
Jimmy was known for his many talents, particularly in carpentry, where he found joy in crafting beautiful pieces of woodwork. Yet, it was his true passion for family that shone the brightest. He was a family-oriented individual who cherished every moment spent with his children and grandchildren. His love for them was evident in the laughter they shared, the adventures they embarked upon, and the unforgettable midnight lectures around the dinner table where stories flowed like his signature humor.
Known for being funny and silly, Jimmy had an innate ability to entertain those around him with his storytelling. His wit and charm made each gathering memorable, as he regaled listeners with tales from his life, sharing much laughter. Whether it was fishing trips, quality time spent outdoors, or simply enjoying the company of loved ones, he approached each moment with enthusiasm and joy.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Louise Jennings; and father-in-law, Jimmy Ayers.
He is survived by his loving wife Dana Jennings; children, Brandi (Joshua) Satterfield, Lisa Awtrey, Justin "Bubba" Jennings, and Elizabeth "Sister" Jennings; siblings, Steve Jennings, Robert Jennings, Red Jennings, Betty Sue Jennings, Jackie Jennings, Bronnie Perry, and David Jennings; seven grandchildren, Lily Satterfield, Abbagail Satterfield, Brentli Awtrey, Braylen Awtrey, Roselynn Jennings, Emma Patterson, and Walker Jennings; children in love, Melissa (Kenneth) Whitman, Allie Kaminski, Kainaan Whitman, and Skyy Whitman and many others of his children's friends and his nieces and nephews he helped raise.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 4, 2025 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home Douglas Chapel.
Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, September 5, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home Douglas Chapel with Pastor Stephen Lee officiating.
Interment will follow at Cool Springs Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in Winston, Georgia.
As we remember Jimmy, we celebrate a life that was rich in love, laughter, and lasting memories. His legacy will continue to be felt in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him.
