Jimmy B. Johnson passed away peacefully on August 25, 2025, at the age of 78. Born on December 8th in Corsicana Texas, Jimmy dedicated his life to one of service. He proudly served his country in the United States Army. During the Vietnam War, he demonstrated courage, honor, and resilience. While serving his country, Jimmy received the Vietnam Service Medal with 2 Bronze Service Stars, National Defense Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Amy Commendation Medal, Civil Actions Medal with Oak Leaf and Sharpshooter (Rifle) medals. After returning home, he continued his lifelong commitment to serving and protecting others through his career with the Navarro County Sheriff's Office, retiring after almost 30 years of devoted service. After retiring, Jimmy volunteered with the City of Comanche Police Department to provide ongoing officer education. Beyond his professional military service, Jimmy was a man of integrity and warmth. He was a loving husband to Pat for 54 years, a devoted father to son Justin and daughter -in- law Marissa; and a cherished "Papa" to Hailey and Jackson. Jimmy was an avid outdoorsman, and his greatest joy was spending time with his family, sharing stories of his experiences, and passing down the values of his faith, hard work and of love of country. He was an accomplished bass guitarist using his talent for gospel music. Jimmy will be remembered for unwavering dedication as an instrument of peace, gentle humor, and the deep kindness he extended to everyone he met. His legacy lives on through the countless lives he touched and the example he set as a husband, father, grandfather, veteran, peace officer and friend. He is survived by wife Pat, son Justin and daughter-in-law Marissa, grandchildren Hailey and Jackson, brother, Dr. Gary Johnson (Barbara), his sister Betty Stokes (Ron), nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father, Rev. B. W. Johnson and his mother, Jimmie L. Johnson. Visitation will be Wednesday, September 3rd from 6-8pm at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home in Corsicana, Texas. A celebration of his life will be held on Thursday, September 4th 11:00am at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home. Burial with military honors will follow on Tuesday, September 9th 1:00pm Dallas/Ft. Worth National Cemetery 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway Dallas, Tx. 75211.
