Services for Jim Lynch will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 6, 2024 at Hilliard Funeral Home with visitation starting at 9:00 a.m. Pastor Mike Calhoun will officiate. He will be laid to rest at Fairway Garden of Memories Cemetery in Van. The deacons of Pruitt Baptist Church will serve as pallbearers.
Jimmy Mack Lynch was born December 19, 1941 in Dallas, Texas. He had been a resident of Pruitt since 1977, formerly living in Garland and Florida. He was a faithful member of Pruitt Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon for many years. He was a retired firefighter after 25 years of service, working in Richardson, TX, Hollywood, FL, Kilgore, TX, and Wylie, Texas; he also served as chief for the City of Wylie. He then worked as a deputy for Van Zandt County Sherrif's Dept for 8 years.
Jim passed away at the age of 82 on November 1, 2024. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jean Heddin Lynch; daughter, Sheila Diane McCawley; father, James Elmer Lynch; mother and step-father, Olene Kathryn Nelson Lynch Barnard and Grady Barnard; and parents-in-law, Marion and Janie Foster Heddin.
Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Dwayne and Karen Lynch of Jamestown; sisters and brothers-in-law, Patience & Van McGuffey of Hideaway and Suzette & Buzzy Valentine of Edgewood; grandchildren, Justin Lynch, Regan & Reed Goff, Brian & Bethany McCawley, and Scott McCawley; and great-grandchildren, Daisy, Brian Jr., Creede, Sam, Ella, and Rowyn.
If desired, memorials may be made to The Gideon Organization or Pruitt Baptist Church.
