Jimmy "Jim" Milner of Lubbock, Texas, was born February 9, 1933 at home on the coldest day on record in Brownfield, Texas. He passed on February 20, 2025. He was the fifth of six children born to the late John and Dovie (Sandefur) Milner. He graduated from Brownfield High School, where he participated in all sports, a love for which he carried throughout his life. Shortly after graduation, Jim enlisted in the U. S. Navy, serving as a radioman during the Korean War.

He married Winona (Nona) McCoy on March 27, 1953, and together they shared 71 years of marriage. A devout Christian, Jim served his church faithfully. He was also an avid fan of Texas Tech sports, loved the intricate work of puzzles and cross-stitching, and enjoyed breakfast with friends at Red Zone regularly. Jim loved coaching little league and found pleasure in being Santa for many years.

Professionally, he worked for many years as an independent distributor for Morton Foods and Borden's Dairy. When most people would have retired, he found another passion working for many years with Rightway Medical Supply. His dedication, both to his craft and his faith, touched the lives of everyone around him. He will be remembered for his unwavering kindness, his strong sense of community, and his commitment to helping others. Even in his last days, his smile never wavered.

Jim is survived by his beloved wife, Nona; their three children: Becky Jones and husband John, Kimra Cousatte, Dustin Milner and wife Rhonda. He was blessed with seven grandchildren: Erin Flores, Katy Williams, Kelsey Hill, Kira Cousatte, Cason Cousatte, Addison Milner, and Cameron Milner, and eleven great-grandchildren. He also leaves many nieces, nephews, and extended family members to cherish his memory. He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings John, Bob, Reba, Ruthie, and Landra, and son-in-law Benny Cousatte.
Family and friends are invited to a visitation at South Plains Church of Christ from 10-11:30 am on March 1, 2025.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to New Mexico Christian Childrens Home in Portales, New Mexico or South Plains Pillow Ministry at South Plains Church of Christ in Jim's memory. Nona wants to extend her deepest gratitude to Bridge Hospice, family, and friends for the compassionate care and support, allowing Jim to remain at home, where he peacefully passed away, fulfilling his wish to be surrounded by loved ones.

Internment will be at Meadow Texas Cemetery.

Uncle Jim will be remembered as a favorite Uncle who always displayed a kind and caring presence. He also encouraged everyone to "give their best effort" whether in sports or other endeavors. He was always a positive influence and a source of steadfast support. He lived a life based on Christian principles and was always there for his family. He, and my Aunt Nona, shared a life together that will always be a positive example for all who know them. He is now with his Creator.
