Jimmy Poole, a cherished soul known for his loving nature and selfless generosity, passed away peacefully at home on June 16, 2025, at the age of 69. Born on December 15, 1955, in Greenville, SC, Jimmy was a man who left an indelible mark on the hearts of all who knew him.
Jimmy's life was one of dedication and hard work. After graduating from high school, he embarked on a career that saw him employed at WR Grace and the Scotts Company, before he found his calling behind the wheel of a truck. His years on the road were filled with stories and experiences that he would recount with a twinkle in his eye upon his well-earned retirement.
Beyond his professional life, Jimmy was a man who found joy in the simple things. He had a passion for tinkering with trucks and lawnmowers. This pastime not only showcased his mechanical prowess but also served as a testament to his patience and attention to detail. His love for the outdoors was evident to all, as he could often be found basking in the beauty of nature, a serene expression upon his face.
Family was the cornerstone of Jimmy's world. He was a devoted father to his daughters, Misty (Danny) Cox and Crystal Poole; his son, Charlie Lingerfelt; and his daughter, Angie Brown, and ex-wife Peggy Poole. His legacy continues through his nine grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren, who will carry forward the lessons of kindness and compassion he instilled in them. Jimmy's siblings, Joey Poole, Tammy Phillips, and Debbie Guthrie, along with several nieces and nephews, will remember him as the pillar of strength and love that he was. He is preceded in death by his brother, Boone Poole, and will be warmly remembered by his extended family, including Russell and Christie Poole.
Jimmy's character embodied the epitome of selflessness. He gave without expecting anything in return and loved without boundaries. His generosity knew no limits, and his presence was a source of comfort and joy to those around him.
As we bid farewell to Jimmy Poole, we celebrate a life lived with purpose and love. His memory will be treasured in the stories that will be told and retold, in the laughter that will echo in the rooms he once filled, and in the silent moments when we feel the warmth of his spirit. Jimmy's journey on earth may have come to an end, but his influence will continue to resonate for generations to come.
